Gary Fuchs is a partner in the firm’s Real Estate Practice Group, concentrating his practice in real estate and civil litigation.

For more than 30 years, Gary has represented owners, borrowers and lenders in transactions for initial acquisition of land, as well as owners, contractors and subcontractors in a wide variety of areas, including:

• Development and construction of residential and commercial projects
• Acquisition and leasing of commercial buildings and retail strip centers
• Construction of residential and commercial projects

Gary is a Minnesota State Bar Association Board Certified Real Property Law Specialist, a designation held by a select few Minnesota attorneys. He has extensive experience representing clients in mechanic’s lien foreclosures. In addition, Gary represented several metro area cities primarily on land use issues, eminent domain, construction litigation, and Chapter 429 (special assessment) projects for more than 18 years.

He is a seasoned litigator with more than 100 court and jury trials in state court and in U.S. Federal Court, as well as dozens of arbitration cases. He is admitted to practice in all Minnesota state and federal courts, before the Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals, and U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the East District of Wisconsin.

Gary serves as a mediator, is an arbitrator certified by the National Dispute Resolution Service, and a qualified neutral under Rule 114 of the Minnesota Rules of Practice.  Minnesota Law & Politics has repeatedly recognized him as a "Super Lawyer," named among the top 5% of attorneys in Minnesota.  Gary is a member of the Minnesota State Bar Association, First Judicial District, Seventh Judicial District and Dakota County Bar Associations.

He received his B.A. in Economics from Moorhead State University, and his J.D. from the University of Minnesota Law School.  Gary joined Hellmuth & Johnson in 2010.
