David Hellmuth is a founding partner of the firm, where he provides counsel and services to business and corporate clients ranging from small, privately-held entities to large corporations – including lenders, banks, finance companies and commercial creditors. He also works extensively with builders, developers, and community associations on a variety of business matters.
David concentrates his business practice in the following areas:

- Collections, creditor's rights and remedies
- Community association law
- Creditor bankruptcy representation
- General business law
David provides his business clients with a broad array of legal services, advice and representation, with a primary emphasis in representing the daily, ongoing legal and planning needs of business organizations. He has extensive experience assisting clients with contract formation and negotiation, financial and business capitalization, corporate formalities, buy-sell agreements, business succession planning, accounts receivable and collection matters (including credit policies and procedures), and commercial real estate matters including commercial leasing and commercial land purchasing. David represents a large number of community associations including condominiums, townhouses and cooperative associations.
David is licensed to practice law in the state and federal courts in Minnesota. He is a member of the Minnesota State Bar Association, participating in the Debtor/Creditor, Corporate/Business, Real Property and Civil Litigation Sections, and the Hennepin County Bar Association.
David has served on the Board of organizations including CAI and the Eden Prairie Chamber of Commerce, and was named the Chamber's 2006 "Small Businessperson of the Year". For six consecutive years (2005-2010), Minnesota Law & Politics has recognized him as a "Super Lawyer" and a member of the top 5% of attorneys in Minnesota.
David obtained his J.D. from William Mitchell College of Law in St. Paul, Minnesota, graduating cum laude. He completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis, Minnesota with a B.S. in Finance. |
