Mark Rath is an attorney with the firm and member of the Litigation practice group. Mark concentrates his practice in the following areas:

• Property and casualty insurance defense
• Municipal defense litigation
• Business and commercial disputes
• Employment law and civil rights

Mark primarily handles municipal liability claims, automobile accident claims, and various civil litigation matters. His litigation experience includes a diverse practice in the areas of civil rights, claims against municipalities and their employees, and real estate matters involving zoning and land use issues.

Mark makes being prepared at every turn a top priority with every case.  He has had numerous favorable outcomes for his clients over the years and keeps his clients informed through each step in the process.  Mark’s diverse practice experience provides unique perspectives to the cases he handles, with a problem solving approach.  His practice is focused on the successful resolution of all litigation matters, with an emphasis on defending claims and disputes on behalf of his individual and business clients.

He is licensed to practice law in the state courts of Minnesota and Michigan. He is also admitted to practice in the United States District Courts for the Eastern and Western Districts of Michigan, the U.S. Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals, and the Tribal Court for the Saginaw Chippewa Indian Tribe. Mark is a member of the Hennepin and Ramsey County Bar Associations as well as the Minnesota Defense Lawyers Association.   

He earned his J.D. cum laude from the Thomas M. Cooley Law School, where he served on the Law Review Board of Editors. He completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, obtaining a B.S. in psychology and speech communications.
